Nevada gay marriage has been banned since 2000 by an amendment to the Nevada State Constitution. However due to a recent federal appeals court decision in October 2014, gay marriage has been declared legal in the state of Nevada as well as a few mothers including Idaho, Alaska, Wisconsin, and more.
in the case Hamby v. Parnell, the District court Judge ruled that “The court finds that Alaska’s ban on same-sex marriage and refusal to recognize same sex marriages lawfully entered in other states is unconstitutional as a deprivation of basic due process and equal protection principles under the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution”.
